A hand-coloured portrait of the auxiliary screw-propeller steam frigate 'Arrogant', pictured in port broadside view in Spithead, with the entrance to Portsmouth Harbour at left and Southsea castle under the ship's stern. As shown in this lithograph, she was masted as a regular frigate, with a funnel placed over a midships boiler ahead of the mainmast. Inscribed: 'H.M. Auxiliary Screw-Propeller Steam Frigate 'Arrogant', 46 guns, 360 horse power. To John Fincham Esq. Master Shipwright Portsmouth Dockyard, the constructor of the 'Arrogant', this print is respectfully inscribed by His obliged Servant, RS Thomas.'
