On the left a ship in stern view, and in the centre a port-quarter view of another with a flag at the mizzen and pendant at the main, both with their main topsails shaking and other sails clewed up or on the cap. There are boats pulling between them. In the right distance is a ship in port-broadside view with a flag at the main.

This is one of five drawings of poor quality in crude pencil and a little wash. It may have been drawn over by a later hand, but on comparison with the draughtsmanship in the background of such undoubted drawings as PAJ2514 and PAJ2515, it does seem possible that they are wholly the work of the Elder. The drawing is approximately dated by the watermark.
