An English two-decker drying sails
This is one of five drawings broadly done in thick pencil. All have been very approximately dated to 1685 by the style.
This work is a slight drawing, seen from close on the starboard bow of a ship lying with her fore and main topsails loosed on the cap. Her other sails are all furled. There is a pendant at the main.
