Two pinks under sail
This is one of two drawings (along with PAH1902) both very broad in style, executed in rapid pencil. They have been approximately dated to 1700 by the style.
Here is a lee quarter view of a two-masted spritsail-rigged pink with the wind on the port quarter. There is another vessel depicted passing windward close-hauled on the starboard tack.
While this drawing is tentatively dated to 1700, other drawings were executed on the same sheet of paper in 1665.
