The Cities of London and Westminster accurately copied from the table of the Camera Obscura in the Royal Observatory at Greenwich
A panoramic view of which the title claims its derivation from the image projected by the original camera obscura in the turret of Flamsteed House at the Royal Observatory, Greenwich. St Alfege's parish church, Greenwich is in the foreground; Deptford Dockyard beyond with warships, some in ordinary (reserve), lying off and the tip of the Isle of Dogs on the right. The artist may be Edward Pugh (d. 1813) who illustrated 'Modern London' in 1805 but whom Redgrave says only worked in London until 1806 before returning to Wales. PvdM 3/04
