This bears a pencil inscription along the top '? OLD GATEHOUSE (Park Row) Greenwich' with what appears to be a signature 'C A Holden 1957'. The style of drawing and the subject look earlier, however, and it seems unlikely that it shows a scene in Park Row or anywhere else in Greenwich as late as 1957. The inscription is possibly a 1950s suggestion of its identity by the signatory, who may not be the artist, if only because his writing does seem to match other inscriptions indicating the materials of walls and other structures shown.
