The Royal Hospital at Greenwich
Print. Aerial perspective view of the Royal Hospital, Greenwich, but not as built in many details. The date is suggested by the fact that only the King Charles flag turret, lower left on the river pavilions, was built in 1718 but was taken down in 1733. The Queen Mary Court upper left was only built in 1735-51, so is conjectural here. Hawksmoor temporary chapel of 1707 -post 1751 in Queen Anne, lower left, is also not shown. On the original the title appears below the image, which relates to the Hulsbergh plate in 'Vitruvius Britannicus' (PAH3289).
