Portrait of the ‘Vrede’, 46 guns. She was built in 1650; last mentioned in 1667.
She is viewed from before the port beam. Fore and main courses are loosed in the brails but the yards are only half hoisted. Driver set. The main topmast staysail with the sheets let fly. The fore and mizzen topsails are shown both stowed and loosed. There is a pendant at the mizzen.
It is an offset, but has not been rubbed on the back.
