Portrait of the ‘Adventure’ a 40-gun fourth-rate built in 1646 and sold in 1688.
The ‘Adventure’ seen from before the starboard beam, apparently with square decorated ports. On the broadside she carries eleven guns on the gun deck and upper deck and two on the quarterdeck.
