Rachel Mary, Lady Oliver, circa 1804-1867
A half-length portrait, very slightly to the right, showing Rachel Mary, Lady Oliver, circa 1804-1867, the wife of Captain Sir Robert Oliver (circa 1788-1848), in a white satin ball gown with short lace sleeves. Her hair is parted and clured and she wears a single string of pearls. She is holding a red sash and a red curtain forms the background. Lady Oliver died on 3 August 1867 at Ryde, Isle of Wight, and was buried in the cemetery on Ashknowle Lane, Whitwell, Isle of Wight. Her husband's portrait is BHC2920.
