Inscribed in two columns above the drawing: "Black bands at the top of the caps. Fore and Mn Trysail Masts - no mizen Do. 4 Topmt Backstays. Gilt trucks. 3 top Gt Do. 2 Royal - Funnel about 1/2 up from mast. Yellow streak 6 inches above the Ports. Lower stays all nearly parallel. black X jack jaw. Yellow dolphin striker, sprits. gaff, Gaffs and boom - Mast tops & crosstrees 4 topm shrouds, 3 mizen Do. Mn Topstay to fore cap. Mizen Do - to main top & top 9t braces to Do."
