Sketch of a port view of the Fury and separate view of her prow, March 16th 1852 (inverted)

One of two sketches of the Fury (1823, naval paddle vessel used as a surveying vessel, later known as Asp). This sketch is annotated below: "Fury Jany 15th 1852", and top right: "White Mst Heads, White inside. Do Bowsprit. Dolphin striker. Scraped lower masts". The other sketch is inscribed below: "Fury Jany 16th 1852-25th Jany 1853" and "Paddle boxes & Boats length Bulwarks - Stone colour"; and inscribed above: "Head paint green. Gold fillett to hair and Green col(?) face - gold waistband - one large portion forecastle before the Cathead - one Do abaft the cathead - one Do just before the fore rigging, upper part of black streak even with the Hammock rails. All scraped except the yards". "White streak" is annotated at the waterline. Bound with PAH4407-PAH4431, PAH4433-PAH4440.
