Pen and ink drawing of Chouringee or Chowringhee, an area of Calcutta, India, where Duncan Stewart, Margaret Brodie Herschel 's brother lived. Duncan worked as a medical doctor with the East India Company and spent most of his working life (1825-1855) stationed in Calcutta.
The artist Edward F. Lingham is not a well known artist, but was probably a friend or colleague of Duncan's.
