'Who's There!!'
'Who's there" by W.C. Wrankmore after John William Wright. This print may relate to a story or scene from a play. A man in his dressing gown opens a door holding a lit candle in a candlestick holder. The doorway is in the very centre of the picture, and the man just steps through it, with one foot on either side. The door opens to the right and he holds the handle with his right hand while looking round to his left. Behind the door is a young woman out of sight to him, just peering round the door. Above him and to the right of the picture and again out of sight, is a woman looking down on him from a window.
