'S. Iames. Bicknor. Kent. 1858'
This print shows two views of St James Church, one from outside, the other inside. This Romanesque church was enlarged and rebuilt between 1859 and 1863 by the architect George Frederick Bodley using a grant from the Incorporated Church Building Society. These images show the church as it was just prior to this renovation. The original church, as shown here, dates from the 12th century.
