To their Graces the Duke and Duchess of Ancaster This Representation of the storm... when the Mary yacht was laid on her Beam Ends...
Print depicting the occasion in 1761 when the little fleet escorting Princess Charlotte of Mecklenburg-Strelitz to England to marry King George III was delayed by successive storms. The Princess, however, appeared to enjoy the journey. The Mary yacht appears with sails flailing in the foreground left, the Katherine (or Catherine) yacht is on the extreme left of the picture, and the Royal Charlotte is shown in the centre right. The Fubbs is shown in the centre middle distance. Information from C.M. Gavin, 'Royal Yachts'.
