The occasion occured in 1761, when with the royal yachts the Catherine/Katherine (extreme left), the Fubbs, the Augusta (previously the Charlotte, 1677, renamed for this occasion, depicted second from right) and the Mary, accompanying the newly and magnificently fitted yacht the Royal Charlotte (previously the Royal Caroline, renamed for this occasion), when she transported Princess Charlotte of Mecklenburg-Strelitz to England for her marriage to George III. The Royal Charlotte is shown in the centre of the picture and is described in an additional inscription below the image as 'Drest with her colours for the reception'. The Fubbs is shown in the centre left.
