His Majesty's Frigate Juno Escaping from the Inner Harbour of Toulon, on the night of the 11th of January 1794

A hand-coloured aquatint by Robert Dodd, after his painting, of the British frigate Juno escaping from the inner harbour of Toulon, southern France. It records an event from 11 January 1794. She is shown in the centre of the image in starboard-broadside view with damaged sails, caused by cannonfire originating from the harbour defences flanking her. Three towers with French flags are visible, as well as a stationary French naval vessel in the distance, located pictorially between one of the towers and the stern of the Juno.
