Sequel to the Action of L' Hercule and Mars, on the Night of April 21st 1798. Representing the Mars bringing her Prize out of the Passage Du Raz, the Jason Frigate... assisted in shifting the Prisoners
Three ships on calm waters near land. The Mars is shown starboard-bow in the centre of the image with her middle square sail on the fore shown with tear holes caused by cannon fire. On her right, shown broadside on the starboard side is L’Hercule, bearing cannon damage on the side of the hull; all of her sails are unfurled except for the middle square sail on the fore and the flying jib. Behind Mars, to her left, is probably the Jason frigate.
