The Screw Steam Ship Antelope, 1000 Tons, 200 Horse Power, Captain Henry C Keen, Built in Liverpool
A portrait of the screw steamship 'Antelope' in port broadside view in choppy waters. Millers & Thompson bought 'Antelope' in 1853 and lengthened her and fitted a new deck. They renamed her 'Coral Queen' and ran her on their Liverpool and Australia route. She changed owners several times during her career and was finally sunk in a collision in the North Sea in 1890. (See "Mail & Passenger Steamships of the XIXth Century", H Parker and FC Bowen, pp12-13.)
