The Screw Steam Ship Antelope, 1000 Tons, 200 Horse Power, Captain Henry C Keen, Built in Liverpool

A portrait of the screw steamship 'Antelope' in port broadside view in choppy waters. Millers & Thompson bought 'Antelope' in 1853 and lengthened her and fitted a new deck. They renamed her 'Coral Queen' and ran her on their Liverpool and Australia route. She changed owners several times during her career and was finally sunk in a collision in the North Sea in 1890. It is inscribed: "The Screw Steam Ship Antelope, 1000 Tons, 200 Horse Power, Captain Henry C Keen, Built in Liverpool. Length 235 Feet - Beam 27 Feet - Depth 18 Feet. To Messrs. Millers & Thompson of Liverpool. This print is respectfully dedicated by their obedient Servant, Samuel Walters"
