This View of Her Majesty's Steam Frigate Cyclops, off Spithead under Admiralty Orders, Is... dedicated to Sir Wm Symonds...
A hand-coloured engraving and etching by Henry Papprill after W.A. Knell depicting 'Cyclops', a naval paddle steamer, in choppy seas off Spithead. A ship's boat in the foreground is apparently transporting passengers - perhaps a naval officer and his wife - to or from the ship.
The print is inscribed: "This View of Her Majesty's Steam Frigate Cyclops, off Spithead under Admiralty Orders, Is with permission dedicated to Sir Wm Symonds, Surveyor of the Navy, by his obedient humble Servants Ackermann & Compy. Commanded by Horatio T. Austin RN."
