Novi Begu movaeque Angliae nec non Pennsylvaniae et partis Virginiae tabula multis in locis emendata Nieuw York... (Map of New York in 1682 and environs, and inset view of New York (with key) shortly after it came into British possession in 1674)
Hand-coloured. The map is of interest as showing New York shortly after it came into British possession by treaty in 1674 with the Dutch who settled there sixty years earlier. The name was then changed from Nieuw Amsterdam to New York in honour of James, Duke of York. The British evacuation took place in 1783.
