HMY Victoria and Albert II
Ship portrait. 'HMY Victoria and Albert II' by George Mears. The ship is shown flying the Royal Standard at the main, the Admiralty flag at the fore, Union at the mizzen and the white ensign astern. It is shown in port broadside view on the open sea but with distant white cliffs to far right suggesting an English Channel location. There is a schooner under the yacht;'s stern and a more distant sailing ship and steamer under the bow. For a very similar version, off the Eddystone Lighthouse and dated 1875, see BHC3691.
