Crab boats at Happisburgh on the Norfolk coast
Oil painting. Peter Jamieson studied painting, drawing, etching and wood-engraving at the Royal Academy Schools, 1969–72. While there he won the Osbert-Briley prize for painting and the Inverest prize for printmaking as well as the Inverest prize for etching at the Grafitti Gallery, London. Shortly afterwards he won the Elizabeth T. Greenshield Award to study in Italy. His work is in several notable collections, including that of HRH the Prince of Wales, and the Brinsley Ford Collection at the Courtauld Institute, London.
The Museum commissioned this painting from him in 1982; acquired 1983.
