Inscribed: "To the Honble. Augustus Keppel Rear Admiral of the Blue Squadron of His Majesty's Fleet, this Plate being an exact Representation of the First Attack, made by the British Fleet under his Command. 8 April 1761, at Port Andro, on Belleisle. The General Officers being determined to land at the Place, the Achilles and Dragon were sent in to destroy the Fort, which when silenced the Achilles hoisted a Dutch Flag as a Signal for the Boats. The Broad Pendant being moved to the Prince of Orange, the Boats advanced accordingly, several of them landed, but being overpowered by great Numbers of the Enemy, most advantageously Situated to resist them were obliged to retire. Is most humbly inscribed by his most devoted Servant R. Short."
