Inman Line, The Liverpool, New York & Philadelphia Steam Ship Company's Steamer City of Montreal
Hand-coloured lithograph depicting the City of Montreal passenger liner, shown with one funnel which dates the ship in this print to before 1876, when a second funnel was added during a re-fit. The ship was destroyed by a fire in August 1887, when she was carrying a smaller number of passengers than usual, but a huge amount of raw cotton, which is probably what caused the fire to completely destroy the ship.
