This is a ship portrait, viewed from before the port beam. It is inscribed: ick gelooft / te zijn harderwijck (I believe this is the 'Hardewijk').
The drawing is rubbed on the back and is probably based on an offset, with wash added perhaps by van de Velde the Younger.
