The 'Hilversum' at anchor in a harbour
The focus of the drawing, in the left foreground, is a Dutch ship shown in stern view. This is probably the ‘Hilversum’ at anchor, her fore and main yards lowered and the mizzen topsail set. There is a boat coming alongside, another ship to the left and a galjoot on the extreme right. All the vessels are in a harbour with a coastline on the left and an island or promontory visible in the centre distance.
