Evans and engraved by A. Cardon. / Published March 1, 1809, By T. Cadell & W. Davies, Strand, London.’ This print was engraved by Anthony Cardon from an intermediary drawing by William Evans after William Beechey’s oil painting of 1807–9, now in the National Portrait Gallery. Beechey was friends with St Vincent and painted his portrait several times. The print was published by Thomas Cadell and William Davies in 1809 for their ‘The British Gallery of Contemporary Portraits’. (Updated June 2019.)
