The West Kitchen (Greenwich Hospital)
Pensioners being served in the west kitchen beneath the west end of the Painted Hall. The scales on the table are probably to measure out specified rations by weight or prove that full measure has been given. From the Illustrated London News, 25 March 1865, p. 282; for further details see PAI8788. It is mounted on a sheet with PAI8782-PAI8788 and PAI8790-PAI8791.
