Candle holder
(this object contains LEAD) Gimballed candle holder belonging to Charles James Russell (1840-1907). Steward on merchant ship "St Lawrence" in 1873. Brass spring candlestick with bottom end weighted with lead, gimballed in lyre-shaped bracket mounted on a circular plate with four holes for fixing to bulkhead. Iron nut beneath. Three supports for globe glass at top of candlestick.
