carving

Carving possibly from a vessel, continental in style. It depicts a female head with long hair wearing a plumed cap, a string of beads and a ruff. The carving terminates in scroll work with a lion's head and flowers below. The back is hollowed out and has metal brackets for fixing. The reverse indicates that this is not a figurehead and may be architectural.
