Watch bell

Watch bell HMS 'Ladybird' 1916. 10 5/8 inch diameter. The bell has mouldings on crown and soundbow, solid argent with four equally spaced canons which are rectangular in section and have tapering bases. Soundbow 3/4 inch thick. The bell is incised on the lower waist: 'H.M.S. LADYBIRD' and on the upper waist on reverse side with a broad arrow. Incised inside the bell: 'BAPTISM CARENZA BRIDGET LEE 26.11.36'. The infant was the daughter of the second in command and the vessel was at the time in China.
