Ship's bell

Ship's bell from 'Richmond' (1868), a Bahamas lighthouse tender. The bell has an 11 5/16 inch mouth diamter, with a recessed inscription on the waist: 'Richmond (1868)'. Handbell argent secured to wrought iron bracket, painted white. The stump of the old cast-in staple remains and a false staple was later fitted.
