Ship's bell
Ship's bell from HMS 'Vulture' (1898). The bell has a 10 3/16 inch diameter, incised on the waist with the inscription: 'H.M.S.VULTURE'. Handbell type argent and with no mouldings at all on the bell. Cast-in staple with clapper top closed over it. The vessel is thought to be the 'Vulutre' of 1898, a destroyer built by J & G Thompson on Clydebank, and the bell would seem to be of this date.
