Wine bottle
A green glass wine bottle, probably of mainland European origin, painted and gilded with a half-length portrait of Vice-Admiral Horatio Nelson, inscribed 'NELSON' above and 'CARRAWY' below. 'Carrawy' is a variant spelling of 'caraway'. In this case it may indicate the bottle once contained the volatile oil made from so-called 'caraway seeds', which are in fact the dried fruit of the plant.
