Official boat badge of HMS Dundalk
The boat badge of HMS 'Dundalk' 1919. An official design, the pattern approved in February 1929. On a blue field a gold hawk with a silver bell. The badge is diamond-shaped with a gold rope twist border representing an auxiliary. It is made of cast brass, painted and drilled at the corners. HMS 'Dundalk' was a Hunt-class minesweeper built by the Clyde Shipbuilding Co. and launched in 1919. She took part in the Dunkirk evacuation. On the 16th October 1940, she was mined and sank the following day while under tow off Harwich.
