Goblet

Goblet commemorating Nelson's battles. A tall, inverted baluster-stem goblet with a terraced foot and a cup bowl. It has a pontil mark. The goblet is wheel and diamond engraved with a portrait inscribed: 'ADMIRAL LORD NELSON' framed by a wreath of bay. Within an oak wreath on the other side, the inscription: 'ADMIRAL LORD NELSON', 'CONQUEROR AT ABOUKIR 1 AUGT 1798 COPENHAGEN 2 APRIL 1801. TRAFALGAR 21 OCTR 1805 WHERE HE GLORIOUSLY FELL'. There are two leaf swags tied with ribbon on the sides of the goblet.
