Rummer
Rummer, cup-shaped bowl, stem with thee annulated knops top and bottom with a dumbbell knop in the middle. It has a plain conical foot with a pontil mark. The rummer is wheel-engraved with two seamen, carrying British and French flags and shaking hands. They stand on the deck of a warship with another ship in the background. Inscribed on a ribbon above: 'MAY THEY EVER BE UNITED'. Although the scene suggests a Crimea War date (1854–56), the item may be 20th century.
