Picture on glass

Picture transfer-printed on glass depicting the arms of the Friendly Society of Caulkers. The shield bears a red chevron on a white field bearing a device of Noah's ark and various caulking tools; below the chevron are joined hearts and clasped hands. Scrolls in the design of the arms are inscribed: 'VIGUEUR, CONCORDE, DEPECHE, VERITE, MAIN ET COEUR'. Chains surround the shield, which has a crest of an arm holding a mallet. The supporters are two seamen, who stand on plinths inscribed: 'Friendly Society of Caulkers', 'instituted October 3 1794'. This mock heraldry is placed within a gold bordered oval, a building shown to the right. The corners of the picture are filled by four flowers.
