The death and Victory of Lord Nelson

Neptune stands on the left holding a trident and covering his eyes in grief. A cherub in the sky to the right carries a ribbon inscribed 'He lives above'. A naval action is shown in the background on the far left and, on the right, a sinking ship with 'S. TRINIDAD' on the stern. Inscribed below: 'The DEATH AND VICTORY of LORD NELSON / Neptune from his lowest bed / Mourns his darling Hero dead / And Britain with a Mother's grief / Mourns her Slain Victorious Chief / Bid Genius, bid in Hist'ry's page / His fame descend to ev'ry age, / While stor'd urns & trophies tell / How Nelson fought how Nelson fell'. The picture is mounted in a gold frame with a velvet border.
