Official boat badge of HMS Woolwich
The boat badge of HMS 'Woolwich'. The official design which was approved about 1933. The field is divided barry yellow, blue and black on which is a silver cannon, the breech in the form of a lion's head gold. The badge is a diamond shape with a gold rope twist border representing an auxiliary. It is made of cast brass, painted and drilled at the corners. 'WOOLWICH' is inscribed on the reverse. The design is based on the arms of Woolwich and the field colours on the arms of the Royal Military Academy
