Terrestrial table globe. Geographical details on the sphere show hatched oceans, with Asia and America as separate continents. South America and the hypothetical southern continent is labelled. In Europe, there are labels for countries, towns and regions. North America has the text 'DEVICTA ANNO 1530' and nine regions there are labelled. The west coast of North America is labelled and there is an inscription in South America and names for five regions. The south-west coast of South America is labelled. In Asia there are 11 labels for different areas. Japan is labelled and the ghost islands below 'IAVA MINOR' are labelled 'CAYFORAM FNSVLAE'. In a later hand the voyage of Schouten and le Maire has been added and labelled.

There are various ships and monsters in the oceans for decoration, and eight oceans are named. The mapping is a more elaborate version of the gores of 1547 by George Hartmann. This globe may have been part of a globe clock, and the filled in holes suggest this. The stand, although not originally part of the globe, can also be dated to the 16th century. Similar stands are found in the gilt-bronze monstrance clocks produced in Augsburg in about 1570. The names on the map suggest a French maker.
