Celestial miniature globe
Celestial miniature globe. Astronomical details on the sphere show stars marked by their Bayer notation. A total of 24 stars and two star groups are named. A magnitude table is lacking. Constellations are indicated by areas outlined by contours. There are areas with the names of the 48 Ptolemaic constellations and three of the non-Ptolemaic constellations are drawn. Three of the southern constellations are drawn, as well as all of those of Plancius, Lacaille and those of Hevelius, apart from Cerberus, Mons Maenalus and Triangulum Minus. The stand for this globe is now missing. For full details about the cartography and construction of this globe please refer to the related publication.
