Official boat badge of HMS Campbell
The boat badge of HMS 'Campbell' 1918. The official design approved in 1919. On a black background, a boar's head gold. The badge is shield-shaped with a gold rope twist border representing an destroyer. It is made of cast brass, painted and drilled at the corners. 'CAMPBELL' is inscribed on the reverse. HMS 'Campbell' was a Scott-class destroyer flotilla leader. She was launched in 1918. During the Second World War she was deployed on convoy escort duties. During 1940 she served in operations off Norway and in 1942 in Russian convoys. She acted as a military convoy escort during the D-Day landings and was broken up after the war in 1947.
