Terrestrial miniature globe. It forms a pair with the celestial globe Gerard and Leonard Valk, GLB0247. Geographical details on the sphere include loxodromes drawn for 32 compass points. The discoveries of William Dampier, north of New Guinea, are depicted 'Britannia Nova'. Australia is drawn according to the Dutch discoveries and California is drawn as an island. The coastline extending west of Northwest America is labelled 'TERRA ESONIS'. A total of eight oceans are named.
