Terrestrial globe gores. Geographical details on the gores include the location of the 'Antipodes of Greenwich'. The place of Cook's death is marked and labelled 'Karakakooa B. / where Cap. Cook was / kill'd in 1779'. In the north polar region there are five labels for discoveries, including, for example, 'Edams Land 1655', and there is a place with a comment that reads 'Interview with Natives Aug.t 1818'.

Close to the North Pole is the label 'Capt.n Parry'. In Australia the Dutch discoveries are recorded. In the south polar region there are five labels for discoveries, including, for example, 'L.d Aucklands / Cap. Bristow 1806'. There are many small islands in the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans which have been provided with a name and a date. Only the most notable ones, amounting to 17, are recorded in the globe catalogue, for example, 'Lisiansky's Sandy 1805'.

The tracks of all three of Cook's voyages and those of Gore, Vancouver and Biscoe are shown. A total of five oceans are named. The overall measurements are for each of two sheets of gores.
