L[or]d de Cliffords house at Kings Weston 5 miles from Bristol - with a View of the King-road and the Bristol Channel - and the opposite coast of Wales [Bray album]
No. 60 of 74 (PAJ1976 - PAJ2049)
Although this is from an album of drawings by Lieutenant Gabriel Bray (those dated being of 1774-75) and fairly consistent with his general style, the unidentified monogram signature suggests it was a gift from someone he knew, or perhaps visited the scene with, some years later. The inscription is probably by him in a slightly tighter hand than the notes he generally put on his own earlier drawings, and has clearly been added to the image on a backing slip.
