First Class Dining Saloon on the 'Rome' (1881)
Interior of the passenger liner 'Rome' (1881) showing the carved buffet (in hybrid Renaissance style) at the after end of the First Class Dining Saloon, on the Main Deck. The walnut panels came from the workshop of Carlo Cambi, Siena, Italy. The wall panelling is also in the Renaissance style; ‘Cambi Siena Italia Toscana’ is carved on the doors.
