Awarded to Captain Frederick Edwards (1855-1911) in 1883. Neck badge and ribbon.Blue enamel Maltese cross with white border superimposed on a gold wreath. Between each arm is a Puloulou (gold staff with a ball on top indicating royalty). Obverse: Central medallion light blue depicting feather covered staff. Medallion surrounded by white band inscribed: 'KALAKAUA FEBRUARY 12, 1874'. Reverse: Central medallion light blue inscribed '1874'. Surrounded by a white band inscribed 'KEOLA' in gold with wreath. Suspended by a gold crown from a blue moire ribbon.
